Piros asked about how the Naish 8'4" Hokua went with my weight, so I quickly uploaded this.

Nice JB, you make it look easy but I think anyone else your weight would struggle.

I'm looking forward to a new 'BigBoy' version of the 8'4".. Wouldn't that be nice.

She is a challenge at the worst of times, but the ride most definitely makes up for the paddle. I think once you are underwater it nearly becomes easier than when your neutrally buoyant, however there are limits, I really struggle to ride the 8'0"! Have only caught 2 waves on that baby. But the 8'4" I can ride in most conditions relatively easily, it is a work out and I can't stop paddling so it's great exercise. I heard a rumour that the new range has the 8'4" going to 8'5" and 28" and about 120+ ltrs, but I can not confirm this, maybe it was a dream!

But awesome board, I urge you all to go demo one is available, as it will surprise you on how stable it is FOR IT'S SIZE.

That is amazing , goes to show we put too much emphasis on litreage for boards. You made a really good point when a boards deck is flush or just under the waterline this makes very stable.

Definitely be demoing this board...thanks for the video JB

I loved the look of the new 8'4" Hokua when I first saw Matt's but I knew it would be too small for me.. I've been hoping for a bigger version for myself.

I just found out that there will be about nine different Hokua boards in the new range including a new 9'0".. Wow! .. It will be like a bigboy version of the 8'4".

I even have a pic.. Check out the new tail shape.. What would you call that?. A slight bat tail?. A pointed squash?. A curved diamond?. I like it.

I also like the slight flyers rather than the chunky types and it's also great to see the deck pad is not plain white.. That pattern should help hide dirty marks.

I can see my credit card getting maxed out.

Great Vid JB rippin,

The 8'5 will be perfect for you.

You actually caught a wave on the 8'0 ! that's impressive i struggle just to even paddle it.

It was hard, very hard, and I don't think i'll ever try to do it again! I have to prone paddle as fast as I can then jump up and paddle my ass off to get a wave with about a 5 - 10 window before I go down, down, down.........

DJ, Any dimentions as yet for this 9.0 I was looking into the old 9'6 but if this new 9 is right it may well be a wife replacment

BP, I don't know to much about the new 9'0" Hokua.. other than I want one..

I think it will be about 28 1/2" wide.

All the info should be up soon on the New Naish site.. any day now.. Tic Toc..
