25th Snowy McAlister Surf Festival - Whats On!

It is a festival after all and there will be plenty going on down at Manly this weekend.

If you want to just see the SUP action, the SUP comp starts Sunday.

Sunday June 10th
SUP Heats start approx. 8.30am till 9.20am
SUP Semis start approx 3.40pm - 4pm

Sunday June 11th
SUP Finals approx 11am

SUP Race starts 1pm

Looks like being an awesome event, wish I could be in 2 places at once!

For the record Beau Nixon won it in 2010.

Yeah - I don't think Grainger owns a Snowy title. It goes something like this:

Surf look excellent this morning in the comp zone - it should be a lot of fun out there tomorrow and Sunday.

Think I'll be heading north out of the SUP crowds!

Hey Casso,

See you Sunday morning for the second heat of the SUP. This time I am making sure I get there on time! Today for my 0/35s heat I relied on my automatic diver's watch, which always looses time when I take it off over night (how silly could I get?).

I ended up having to do a three km sprint with a mal on one side and a dog the other from the other side of North Harbour to the comp, just getting there late. I ran that hard I dropped this big vommit on the promenarde right at the beginning of the comp zone.

I reckon everyone watching thought I was still pissed, but that was pure adreniline based! Needless to say, I bombed out, at least not getting last. Maybe I should give up the surfing and start looking at adventure racing?

Hey, hopefully we will all have a better time in the morning!

Oh, yes Kai is in!

First Place was Beau Nixon
Second place Andrew Cassidy
Third place Kai Bates

Was a close final with onshore sloppy one foot waves Casso had it in the bag till Beau got a bomb near the end ,well done to all.

Well done fellas, Kai your time is coming soon to bag one! Well done Casso, knocking Beau off would have been huge. Surf sounded cr@p though.

At least we had some smoking waves in QLD

Hey Guys thanks for a great weekend, was all time fun!

Great vibe great steak sangas, but no more jokes about the Vicco weather though

AA your dry change area tent was a welcome sight for all the competitors and you kinda got some good ones on that new PSH 12'6 looked like a very nice weapon.

Kristi was stoked getting into the semis and adding Manly to the "I surfed these spots" list.

Congrates to Beau he was ripping, but on the score sheet I'm sure Casso and Kai wouldnt have been far behind.

Kai at 17 will be making a few of the SUP Guns take a long look over thier shoulders I'm sure.

Back next year!

Great vibe, decent waves - could have done with a little less rain but can't complain about that water temp

Wicked comp, be back for sure!
