hi guys.

i have to choose between this 2 boards.
but i not able to choose.

i'm more like a shrimps rather than a terminator. 1 m89 for 69 kg. (6'2 for 159 lb)
i'm a longboarder but not a good one, just an easy one.
all our spot are reef break and with small wave it's pretty shallow

i have tried a whopper and i found it too big.

the nalu is it stable enough in choppy condition, can it be a all-round board

the drive come with camo deck (full eva deck) and a couple hundred AUD less than the Nalu.
but the Nalu is with veneer bamboo and bag.

pffff i don't know
please help.

regards

The 10'6 is a fantastic surfing SUP. Its a bit tippy if you are in the newer phases of stand up paddle surfing but once you are comfortable on it you will be pleased with how it surfs.

IMO boards 30" wide or wider just do not surf as well as narrower boards.

10'6"/28" all the way.
the better you get and the more you surf it the happyer you'll be that you've made this choice. and you'll still be able to enjoy flat and long paddles. With the 10'5"/30" you'd only be happy for 5min, cause you'll adapt quicker, but you'll find you'll then want something that surfs and paddles better.you sound like a greyhound and you may even have trouble getting the rail in if you go for to much volume, 10/6 - 10/5 :whatever, your call. brand : whatever, your call. width & thickness - think about your weight and what you want to do with the board and not just now but time down the track.

Damo!
it's what i'm afraid!
yesterday i put my feet on 10'4 / 28 1/2 / 4 1/4 from Quattro.
the bottom is 1/3 flat under the nose and V for the last 2/3 to the tail. it was a single fin.

i have to walk less than a minute to paddle on the lagoon and his flat water.

paddle it on flat was perfect. speed and stability, row was correct and easy to control.
afternoon the wind pick up to 15 knt and the lagoon was a mess.very choppy.
it was difficult to limit the row, pretty unstable. i had loosed all my confidence.
not fall but it make me tired fast enough.

the nalu don't have the same shape.
it's a mono concave to a double and a Vee on the last 1/3.
it's seems more stable than the quatro.

if it wasn't so expensive and complicate to afford one here, i will not hesitate like this.

shuffle and deal!
2 answers against 1 for naish!

thanks for your help

i will post a topic in a couple of month. may be i'll become a better swimmer rather than a SuPer.

thanks i appreciate

take care guys
regards

Hi,

Naish 10'6 for sure has my vote it is a bit tippy but for your weight should not be an issue. Plus when you get used to standing on it if needs be, the board surfs sooooo good.

hi bomber.

JL is one of my preferred shaper. i own a kitesurfboard and a surf from him. awesome.

now i'm settle on Reunion island. pretty nice island with some good left (the famous one is ST LEU) but to afford a Sup it's a nightmare. nothing to test and just 2 brands SB and Naish.

i have tried with the excellent people from Coreban for a rocket ( the water drop bottom shape remind me my G McCOY surf),
but the Xrate btw € and $ is not really good at the moment. and i don't talk about the shipping. just prohibiting.

so i will go for the Naish.

thanks for all your advice.
i appreciate.
i will post a reviews as soon as i get it. 1,5 month!!

best regards

no mate, it's just a little island. check on a map. it's the small black dust between Madagascar and Mauritius.
it's French, and it's the problem.
take board put it in a airplane. when you get it you have to pay a custom tax: 17% (board + shipping + process).
so you better have a good idea of what you want.
just 2 shops and no one want a stock, so no board to try.
we have some good shaper but no one with enough background.

but we have good waves, the sea never drop under 20°c, trade winds, a lagoon and tons of awesome girls!

ahh i forget, we don't have any VB nor TooHEYs New and that is a shame!
