Anyone tried the 8'10 mana .i own a 10 foot mana time to down size .will keep 10' for small family days .
I'm going to demo custom deep 8'6 iv seen them in action they look like a great board also like to demo the 8'2 wide point but cant find one of them to demo at this stage around my area .The manas width being 30.5 i think this with the shorter length should give great combo to throw around alot easier than the big 10' .im only 80kgs.cheers for any feed back. calbs.

On the Naish site, the GS and GT are completely different shapes-wondering if they just have not updated the pics yet. The 8'10 GT Mana looks really appealing to my eye. Hopefully someone can chime in who has ridden it. Curious to hear feedback as well.

Calbs,

They should have one in the van when they come down for the jetty to jetty race on th 11th and 12th. Ive seen one and they look to be right on with the shape but cant give too much as havent ridden one. Looks a bit more like a Hokua but with more width.

Sweet DJ. Let us know how you go.

Tossing up between this & a 9'0 Hokua for a super clean day/challenging type board. Pretty sure the Mana will be more stable but I don't think I'd like the thickness of it.

Calbs,

I demo'd the 8'10x30.5 mana and the 10'x32 mana on the same day last week.
They are completely different boards, with the 8'10 mana being a lot more performance orientated than I expected, more pulled in nose and way more fun on a wave. Stability when just standing, and paddling to break seemed not much difference to the 10' for me at 80kgs. However, My friend 100kgs who owns the 10' mana really struggled and didn't bother. But I got fatigued sooner and had to resort to my knees going out, have to take waves a lot later than id prefer and fell more than id like, especially in chop. This is normal of course for shorter boards. Im sure id improve with this as would you. But something didnt feel 100%. Its harder than the simpler fanatic 8x10 allwave which is instant fun and perhaps good if your coming from 10' mana. a bit corky for me though. Your needs and skills will be different to mine, as how big a jump you want to make.

To me, your current 10'x32 Mana has too much rocker, too wide, too much volume up front and fat rails and lacks longboard feel that other similar size boards have. Just changing shape rather than going too short will really make a difference. You need to decide if you want longboard feel or shortboard. Im thinking coming from mana 10' - 8'10 performance shortboard might be too big a transition? a softer approach might be if not allwave, perhaps starboard WP, converse, or if your after more shortboard style - hokua 9.5, fanatic prowave 9'3 and JP 9.2 (which felt more stable than 8'10 mana but not decent waves to truly test feel). so im as confused as you and have a 8'10-9'6 thread going which may help..

Hi Suppose,
cheers for the feed back.Im after the short board feel 10' mana ill keep for small days and fun with kids , 10' mana has a heap of volume as you know bit of a challenge for me to throw around at 80kg its done its job getting me use to catching waves.i saw a custom deep 8'6 days ago loved the shape of it yet to try but have access to try before buy so keen to see how it goes .I will probably have a bit of swim time but thats cool ill grow into it love this sport love a challenge .enjoy the search calbs.

Have got the GT 9'10......highly recommended as a board that is stable to paddle yet will cope with critical wave sections extremely well. Have ridden it in a wide variety of conditions.
Am saying "GT" "GT"....can't see the mana attraction

I went from the 10' Mana to the 9.6 Mana. Much prefer the shorter board.
