Hi,
Trying to help a friend find a SUP, shes about 65kg and looking for an all round board. Flat water, small waves and possibly be able to have her toddler on the front of the board while cruising on flat water.
Ive got a 10ft fanatic fly and its pretty good for all the above. Shes looking at a fanatic 9'10" all wave because someone told her its better for waves, neither of us are really surfers.. hehe The price diff is about $400, all wave being more $
Keen to hear peoples thoughts..
Do Naish make Sups? ![]()
65 kg and a 9 10 Allwave...........nah. Better with the Fly as an all round board.

Absolutely right > The 9'10 Allwave is a big lad's surf SUP. I have the 9'10 AW, I'm 6'2 I hover somewhere in the mid-high 120s...at 65kg it will be a pig for her.
Of those two boards, she'll be much happier with the 10' Fly allround. Better flat water cruiser for her and an easier prospect for for first waves. There are plenty of other allrounds in that 10' size range that will do the job, depending on what you have access to.
Wow, Fanatic really do have a stranglehold on this forum.
Small market mate, limited offerings & some distribs promote a lot more vigourously than others.
You should check out the Naish Nalu 10'6" (or a second hand 11'4" from the last generation). Great board, stable, surfs well on small waves, could handle a child / dog on the front.
For cruising around, you do not need to waste big $$$ on brands where a lot of the price come from a huge pro team and a hefty ad budget.
Just get something wide enough in the nose for the stability needed to bring in a toddler, and light enough for your wife to handle alone. Plenty of brands will have what you need. I'd advise something with a pad on all the deck, it will avoid rash on your kid skins and feel more friendly.
What you save on the board, put it in the paddle. A light paddle is so great, especially for girls.
