Bit confused on all the new sups out these days

as i have been off the sup for aprox 20 months due to surgeries i am now thinking im out of touch

i see a lot of boards have now gone short but super wide i.e over 30 wide

as my last board was the psh wide ripper, this board now seems old school in float and stability vs new school

im thinking the allwave 9,2 at 88kg but it does have a fairly wide nose, and i guess not a great sharp turning board vs a pulled in psh ripper

i see a lot of comments on guys going to the 8,10 allwave in the previous life i had on sup this would of been dreaming at 88kg

Hey Paul, I know the surgeries bit. The Good news is that as a reward you get to try an 8'8" JP if you can find a Demo, which is apparently a great surfing SUP as well as being stable. The 9'2" Allwave is awesome, but I'm around a 100 kilos and as I get lighter and my back gets better I'm thinking about something less stable and more manouverable. Check out the 8'10" Allwave at your weight. SuptheCreek over in the states reckons it's brilliant. At your weight you might want to check out the 8'6" Allwave and or the 8'2" JP Wide body. Have fun recovering and good luck with your new "precioussssss" BP!!!

Leroy gave you some great boards to demo or research.
I think you will be pleasantly surprised at the stability and performance of the Allwave and JP's.
20 months is an eternity... you must have been going crazy I'm glad you are getting back at it!

If you want more stability for your comeback:
Allwave 8'10 x 31 - 145 ltrs... as you say, wide nose and VERY stable. I'm 98 kg and it's super easy for me.
It surfs much better than you would imagine for a board with a wide nose... the bonus is... it is a great noserider.... but just plain rips in 1' or overhead.

JP 8'8 x 32 Wide Body Surf- 136 ltrs... I really want to try this board. I hear good things about them. I went Allwave because this board is quad only... and I am a thruster fan.

Another board to look at that may be more in line with your PSH Wide Body... and I might like better than the JP Wide Body

JP "Surf" 9'2 x 30 - 136 ltrs... some great vids around with this board.Thruster fin set up. If you balance is good... this may be the best performer.

The hunt is a lot of fun.. enjoy & update when you get to demo some.
