Short boards fins work well for me, I have found some boards to be over finned when I get them, but I recon it depends on the board, your weight and the waves you are surfing as to what fins you use, most surf shops have fin test centres that you can demo until you find what works for you.

Futures stamps front and merrick biscuit 5" centre fin - just a bit slippery when it gets bigger - the stamp quad set worked well but one just fell out

It's an 8'9 psh wide ripper and its a ****load o fun with small fins

Looks like there could be a problem with the fanatic pro wave fin boxes, I have a mate that dropped a fin out of his prowave the first time he used it, wonder if its happened to anyone else ?

After seeing these and other posts it's obvious that Fanatic have problems with their latest series re the futures fin system.
1. They do not fit with the precision required and fall out.
2. To replace any fin requires the purchase of a full set of Fanatics .. $199.00.
3. The back 3 fin boxes are for middle fins .. can't fit rear quads.
4. If you do fit other brand fins the Fanatic boxes are too wide and need shims.
5. With 5 boxes and the rear 3 being suited only for middle fins even Fanatic
can't come up with a quad solution .. what DID thay have in mind.
6. I have a number of boards and dozens of spare fins/sets, none of which are
interchangeable with my new, expensive, Fanatic LTD Prowave.

Have no problems with the board itself .. good build .. light .. fast .. etc.

Any ideas out there on setting it up as a quad .. ??

I think its a problem with futures - they seem way less secure than FCS - I've had futures drop out - only ever broken FCS when hitting reef on my short boards

Try the Stamp Quad set around $140 recommended to me by the crew I bought the Ripper off - worked really work well (until one dropped out) in smaller waves. (up to head / head and a quarter high) - take your board with you and see if they fit first
