That looks like a serious volume reduction in the tail. Have they pushed more volume up front.?
It should make the board more manageable for lighter guys.
hope the porta potti is empty!
The side rails have also been thinned out a fair bit from last year's too, which is nice. I've had a few sessions on my 7'11 since picking one up on a bit of a whim in QLD on holiday last month.
I'm <70 kegs wet and have found I still have to move my feet around a fair bit on each turn because of the float. Having said that, I'm intermediate at best and the board was a conscious choice on both budget and volume after playing with a couple of pricey sub-100l boards that were like trying to balance on a really expensive cork in the chop.
The thing's super stable as you'd expect at that volume but is still alive enough to tip me off the back every few waves if i'm not paying attention or haven't crouched into a turn.
Haven't changed the fin setup yet (being pretty new to SUP equipment) but am keen to experiment, so if anyone has recommendations between the Shapers S9, Jackson Close 01 or otherwise as a thruster at my weight then I'm all ears.
Hoo roo.
