Despite the obvious lack of swell elsewhere in QLD
, a quick paddle across the Broadwater and a 15 min walk overland produced some of the best waves I've had on "The Island" yet!
Dropping tide and offshore winds and the occasional 3ft right hander peeling off for 50m and ending in a deep channel. Did I mention I was the only one out? (looked like plenty of boats and short boards down south at the more popular spot)
Paddle home against the tide and South Westerly was miserable but worth it. "The Island" is definitely a hidden gem of the Northern Beaches.

Careful if your from the flat north it may be mind-blowing... lol
Nice waves, would have been fun.
Just wish whoever filmed that clip, could have backed off the friction on the tripod. The jerking around gave me nausea.
