Nice looking board HC. Dale makes an awesome board, just to expensive for me though. Look forward to hearing your reviews on it performance

OK so I've had about 3hrs on this board over yesterday and today, albeit in fairly light conditions. Yesterday morning off Rickett's was still air and glassy with a light roll in it and a bit of fisho's boat wake about. This morning at HMB was up to about 10 knots NNE & a (very) light chop.

First impressions...it's bloody great. I'm not nimble at all at 6'2 & 120kgs and my brain doesn't adapt fast to new things but the volume (305 litres) and 30" width feels very safe. I hadn't been on the water for nearly a month before jumping on yesterday but was pretty comfortable straight away. The rails are soft so there's a little tradeoff in primary stability (with me on it anyway) but the secondary stability kicks in quick and easy so altogether it's pretty relaxed in side chop. On balance I find it way more stable than the K15, 14 Glide or any other 27-28" wide 14fter I tried.

Under paddle it shines. The glide is very very good. With subtle nose rocker you step forward a little to get the nose in and it slices & tracks beautifully, step back a little, the nose comes up and it wants to run on 6" boat wake...very cool.

Overall two thumbs up and I'd highly recommend one of these to the big blokes out there. The only thing I find fault with is so far is the engine and the skill of the pilot.

Sweet looking ride! Yer i was checking his boards out at Byron on the weekend and he is pumping out a a sweet board for the bigger guys at the moment . I going down to burliegh today to see what he can do for me im 6' 5" and struggle on my 28" red devil when the chop comes up ps the wife has always told me 2" would make a big difference

Thanks DJ (& PT), I'll take those as standing invitations and of course you're more than welcome to give it a run yourselves...

Just in from a sneaky hour of out-n-back at Hampton/Sandy ("work at home" days are gold). I reckon just a couple more sessions of getting to know it and I'll be good to go

We share same height & weight. I like the volume and width. Sh-- I want one. Now Mummy taught me not to ask as it's a bit rude - but How much ? $2500 ? It must have felt Xmas morning when it arrived.

fanatic 14 is actually more volume at 320l or so but narrower, the extra width of the DC is the key for me...and how the vol is distributed. Standing area is set in a bit which I also like (a bit hard to see in my crappy pics).

Nice one, matching paddle too - how do you like the vision tech? what size is it? I need a new paddle to go with my DC, my 'old' one's cut too short for my DC's ride height (Mrs Cartoon just rolls her eyes)

Im finding the vision tech 550 more comfortable to paddle than my Kialoa nalu and IMO pulls through the water better but that might be due to the extra 2 inches in length. How you finding you DC there a great board

Hey Gassa I'm enjoying the board a lot, it's an excellent fit for me. I'm experimenting with fins a bit to get the feel dialled.

I'm using a carbon Enduro 550 paddle at the mo, I reckon I'd get more out of the board with a higher cadence than I can get with the 550, looking about for a smaller blade (kind of wish I hadn't flogged my 525 ).

These boards are sweet! I have been testing the 14' x 30" Makaru and I like the speed, stability and surfability!

At 12.5kg it is light and nimble. Sweet all-round board that is very hard to fall off!

Stepped out and put one in the DEMO fleet so if you are keen to give one a try, drop me a line! AA

I've been surfing this baby over the last week getting my shoulder back into shape.
I have been pretty impressed how well a big board can surf!
I was thinking that only the likes of Dogman could do a cutty on a 14'er!
Found my summer board i reckon. This is the future - big boards that can race, downwind and surf - yeeew!

I reckon they're magic boards for all not just the bigger guy. I'm under 80kg and 6'2", don't have the greatest balance in the world and I love mine as I can enjoy paddling without the constant thought that I'm always on the edge of falling off.

Great stuff on the DC 14. The dimensions and volume seem to be just right. I would love to check one of these out in Canada.
