I've searched the forums and couldn't find a topic on this.

Who uses hats when they SUP and what sort do you like?

I have an FCS brimmed hat but don't like it cause it's sits too low on my head. The caps are OK but don't offer any protection for the back of the neck.

I haven't seen a Legionaires style cap that ties on (they are pretty daggy looking as well).

Cheers

Check these hooded rashies out. I ordered one, was delivered to my door, took it to Bali with me and was very happy with it.

Patagonia made a great hat with a short duck bill and covered the ears, but they discontinued it. I should have bought a couple. Now they make a full brim hat that may shade more sun but is not as practical. I think I'll try the Bali.

Hey,
I wear a trucker hat when im out as the water doesnt pool in it when you fall off. I know Ocean and Earth make a brimmed hat out of a light material with mesh drainage that clips under your chin so it doesnt fall off. I beleive they also make a legionaires style one also if thats helpful.

FWIY,
I have an o'niell wide brimmed hat that works a treat. doesn't come off has neoprene in the top so once you wet it it seems to stay cooler.
The brim at the front is stiffened so it doesnt cover your eyes
and it certainly was the most comfortable of the 3 I tried

Dakine make the best hat I could find. It has a removeable flap to protect the neck. It stays on and stays cooler than the last one I had. Surf sail in Leederville sell them.
