Is there anyone out there who has paddled/surfed either or both of these SUP's? I think they have been demo'd in a few places on the East coast. I'm down to these two (Stand Sure 11'0" or LSD 10'0") as my next board option.

I own a 9'9" JL Mano that is awesome on the wave but for a big fella like me (100kg) it is a bit too tippy for standing around on.

I'm looking for a board that I can park out the back while I'm waiting for waves, (without wobbling and falling off) and still be able to ride it like a surfboard. I still surf a 7' quad and just don't like riding mal style.

I like a board where you can plant your feet and ride without too much hopping and shuffling around.

As always, looking for that perfect board isn't easy, any advice or comments from the crew would be greatly appreciated, I'm sure there are others out there after the same info.

what about the jimmy 10'2 just that bit bigger than the 9'9 and that way you can have one board for all

G'day Jacko
In the beginning I was going for the 10'2" but when I got in touch with Courts they had run out of them.

Hilly posted that he could ride the 9'9" easy at 105kg so I took a punt, maybe it's my skill level. I dunno, but the 9'9" is definately too tippy for me. I guess I need to find a 10'2" and have a ride of one.

All the feedback on Simon and Luke's new creations has been impressive, with the 10'0" LSD being my first choice at the moment. As far as I can tell 10'0" is the biggest board you can get on a plane to Bali.

I've seen the outline, which I like, the question is whether it has the volume.

Always a tricky process, picking the right surfboards, sailboards, kiteboards, now SUP's (finally happy with my surfboard, I've given the other two sports away due to injuries)

After all that... I bought a 10' Whopper in Blue Touch, unbelievable, I'm totally stoked on it, wave after wave after wave at the beachie down the road from mine. I'm looking forward to getting it down south in some size.

There's quite a lot been said in recent threads about narrow noses and all that, I just think we all need to think about what has happened to surfing over the last 10 years or so. Everyone madly frothing at the mouth, hassling, competing, even at their local.

Admittedly higher performance is the inevitable outcome of the competitive nature, but we aren't all going vertical or doing airs.

I dunno, I just think it's alright for everyone to be stoked at their own level without feeling like they should be trying to be world champion.

Big waves, big turns, maybe a barrel here and there (if I get lucky) that's what it's all about for me.

Stoked, absolutely stoked....

Hey Indo Tubes, great that you are so stoked. Do you get that ability to turn the Whopper while staying planted that you were after. I've got an 8'5 Pocket Rocket which in a strange way is like a mini whopper for me because I'm so light and thats the thing I love about that board - find the sweet spot and just turn that puppy!

Give it some time, I used to think a 10 8 X 29.5 was tippy

Yeah I know Andy, I wasn't having a go, I have no doubt I'll end up on a hi perf board eventually anyway, it was just too soon for me. A good lesson for new players - try before you buy. Thanks for the input all the same.
