Does paddle length change for canoe type boards, ie, ace, allstar, wow rdo, etc? I have always worked on 8 -10in above head height but on these boards you are closer to the water line so I wonder if you need to shorten your paddle.

IMO you do need a slightly shorter paddle for dugouts.

Yes. I have a 12'6 Nash jav GX and a 14' starboard allstar. My paddle length is suitable for the Nash but its about 2 or 3 inches too long on the starboard. Time to get cuttin!!!

The boards you have mentioned are all quite different.
Last years Ace had about 3" of foam under your feet in the cockpit.
The WoW RDO (I've got one of these) has 5" thickness under foot which is pretty much the same as my 12'6" WoW BOP which is not a canoe.
So even between those 2 canoes you would most probably want to adjust your paddle length.
You will know pretty quickly after a short paddle on one of them.
Not sure how thick the Allstar is.....nor the 2013 Ace.
