I'm looking at getting myself a carbon paddle just before spring and because i'm fairly isolated when it comes to trying new SUP gear i was hoping my fellow forum mate's can give me a bit of a review of what you are all using.![]()
I've been using the standard alloy Naish paddle for about six month's now and have been hapy with it; But i have had nothing to compare it with and would love to go carbon for the lightness. My naish is also a bit short but would like a shaft of about the same width as it feel's really comfortable even on long session's.
With all the talk about new boards coming out lately i was just wondering if the development of new paddles is changing too.
Cheers

IMO...You have two to choose from....The Kialoa...and the Werner...Nothing else comes close.
Except maybe the C4..they're a close third...but no one here sells them..(Melbourne)
I'm going to do a post about my Kialoa paddle soon...They are sooooooo good..![]()

I was using a Southpoint Nexxt, which I like because it is carbon fibre with a layer of glass over the top, making it very durable.
I now have a nice C4 Waterman carbon fibre paddle, courtesy of Nic. Thanks Nic!
I find the C4 heaps more flexible than the Nexxt, and much lighter. I plan to do some extended coastal and/or bay paddles next spring and summer, and this light paddle will be less fatiguing after a few hours on the board.
It's light, it's flexy, and it's grouse!
John the C4 paddle is very nice isn't it..There's no flutter no matter how hard you push it..and also the smooth'ish finish still feels grippy even when wet.
I can't believe Nic is selling his C4 board and other C4 paddle..I know he wants to buy a 16' Laguna but how could he sell such a nice board.
Someone is going to get a real bargain buying his gear.

Damn! Now you've got me thinking, DJ! If he still has the gear closer to spring, I might just relieve him of it! I want to get another board. Nic, if you read this, keep me in mind. I just can't do it until later in the year.
