I'm looking at buying my first SUP board and need some advice from someone in the know... I can get my hands on a PSH 9'6 X 30 for a good price but am not sure if it will be big enough... I weigh about 97kg and have surfed a shortboard for over 25 years - i'm not all that interested in paddling flat water too much but just want something to keep me fit and get me in the water when the surf is average. Unfortunately my better half has already killed the idea of a quiver so i'm looking for something which will last me a while. Am i kidding myself to try and learn on something this short? Not

sure which model of PSH it is so have included a pic

Have been known to be wrong (many many times )
But think I noticed this board in the classifieds a few days ago. If so was described as a10' or 10'6 and handglassed. Guy was selling it coz he thought it was too small for him but thought to myself it just needed some perseverance.
Anyone else see it?

yeah i've seen this board and it looks sweet mate....but i am just under 80 kg and mostly ride a psh wide ripper 9'6......and i've been on the sup thing for a bit now.....not sure what volume this is running at coz i believe its a custom..but i think the one i have is about 135..it took me a fair swag of falling off but worth the worth the effort in the long run coz they surf like a demon! this one is a smidge wider...but you are a little heavier.....tough call for a first board...you may need something a little different to start but the problem is, yo will only want that something a little bigger for a short time before you want this kind of board....i suggest hit up some crew for some demos mate...either that or buy more boards on the sly when your missus isnt watching and stash em in the shed or ya mates houses...hahahah!

at your weight this might be a bit small for you especially if you are learning i would go something bigger and work your way down. I learnt on a psh 9'3" ripper and was hard work at first but then began easy except i weight 71kgs
