I am curious what PFD's people are using. I am keen for a bit more safety on long SUP's.

A lot of us use these bum-bag type inflatable PFD's.
This Marin brand used velcro and it can easily come undone when you don't want it to.. So I tied mine up.
I've noticed newer types use a zipper to avoid this problem.
