Hi,

I've been wanting a nose guard for my Naish Hokua 8'5". I bought a Surfco Nose Guard a while ago in hope that it might be the right fit but alas no it was way too small. Has anyone found one that would fit such a SUP? I.e this board has a pointy nose rather than rounded.

Thanks in advanced.

You could always try rail tape. So long as you cut it so it doesn't overlap it should make a really good nose guard

You used to be able to get a large size for windsurfers.

On my surfboards, when the fad was on pointed tips, I just sanded the tip 1-2cm to round it...

Otherwise, on my SUPs I use some layers of electric tape on the tip, mostly to protect the board, so that I can lay it carelessly on the road upside down. but it hits you a bit less harder too when you meet the board.
I apply ~ 4" strips of tape longitudinally: apply the first inch without stretching, stretch around the rail, finish without stretch on the last inch. Apply as many layers as you want. I apply also cross-strips along the rail line underneath.

I saw some people dipping the tip in "liquid rubber" paints too, used to create grips on hand tooling, like plastidip.com/our-products/plasti-dip/ (Hey DJ, look! it even comes in yellow :-) )

Surfco makes a Longboard noseguard which worked perfectly on my Lopez which is pointy. Keeps the nose from damage when I toss into the bed of my truck!
