I have just had a look at the new naish brochure and was taken by the big man wave sup and more importantly the 14 ft downwinders. So, hence the following queiries regarding the 14fter that i hope someone can help me with. Firstly, is 27in a realistic width for bigger paddler? and secondly, does anybody know the hull shape of these 14footers and how this 27in width will affect the stability?
Thanks for any feedback as i know these have just been released, but it is winter and time to decide, save and restock......
cheers

The 14 footer looks really nice. You don't want to go too wide in a race/downwind board - a little instability is a good payoff for a faster run - IMO. I'm not sure, but I think the shape is similar to the existing 12' Glide which is a very stable board.
I'll post more info when I see one in the flesh, in a few weeks time.
always good to get some good help and advice......David around the 120 x 195cm so as you could understand a certain amount of stability is important for us bigger paddlers........Any further advice or pics will be appreciated

I am not sure of the exact hull design. I would imagine being more than 5" thick a larger person could handle it no problem, narrow would be faster anyway.
