I was riding my mal at Happy Valley at Caloundra yesterday, when one of these paddled near me. It looked very impressive picking up the small swell with ease. The owner was having a ball. Really different to the other Hokuas. Wide outline at about 30 1/2 inches, but seemed so floaty. Now all I need to do is lose 30 kg.... That board looked to be a real winner....plus.. no brushed carbon at all...surfed superbly, too, whoever that was..
wide and short with flat rocker is the magic recipe for fun-sized waves...
No need to lose 30kg. Just find a SUP with enough volume (liters = your weight in kg + 30 to 40) , and just add water!
Hey Bradsdubs,
The Hokua LE 7'6" x 29.5" x 4.75" @ 109ltrs. I am 95kg and this board floats me pretty well. And yes it does surf amazingly in mushy surf. I think Ocean Addicts @ Maroochydore has a Demo one, maybe get in touch with them and find out.
Kind regards,
JB
Thanks to all those suppers in the forum for their positive contributions, inspiring thoughts and laughs. The 7'6 was a really impressive board worthy of inclusion in any arsenal of sups. Aloha and hang loose. Share the love.
Hi Bradsdubs,
The Naish Hokua 7'6" is the type of board that works best in your classic beach break style of wave. Due to its wide width and lack of length the board doesn't hold much glide speed, meaning your usually taking off pretty late. However once you're on the wave and take a step back, the thing just turns on a dime. Is definitely a fun board and worth a try!
Cheers,
Marcel
I love my little 7'6 Hokua LE! When it's either glassy conditions or beach breaks i'll always take this board first. Had two back to back sessions in sucky little barrels down south a few weeks ago. The board turns on a dime and has heaps of nose rocker so you can take off super late and not even worry about sticking the nose in.
Yeah it's a bit of hard work when compared to my other board (9'3 Prowave LTD) but that's down to the user i think!
Would love to see how it goes when the swells got some size to it.

I was really looking forward to getting a Hokua 7'6 GT but they are no longer available. From the information on the Naish website, aside from the carbon construction, it looks like the 7'6 LE is essentially the same board as the GT. Is that the case? Does it have the same rocker and bottom (mono concave with the short channels)? They don't supply much information. And the LE's have not made it to the East Coast of the United States. Do you have a picture of the bottom that you could post. Thanks in advance for any information!

I've got a 2013 7"6 hokua can't even sell it for $900 just a bit to heavy for it or slack to paddle harder

The GT is different to the LE. The LE has no channels and a different tail shape. Also the dimensions are slightly different. Not sure about rocker or other details.
Thanks - indeed the tail is definitely more narrow. I assume it compares favorably to a 7'8". I tried a 7'8" and found it stable and quick.
Hello everybody,
We've tested the Hokua 7'6'' GT on www.standuppaddling.it. For the complete review visit: www.standuppaddling.it/content/view/2258/

If anyone can post pictures of the Hokua 7'6" LE I would really appreciate it.
Warning Newbie Question: I currently surf a Mana 9"0. I am looking for something a bit quicker and looser. I have paddled a Hokua 7'8" and liked it. Currently it seems the closest thing to that board in the Naish lineup is the 7'6 LE. So... I am deciding between the Hokua 7'6"LE and the Mana 8"5. I am going to demo a 2013 Mana 8'10 - since it may be similar to the Mana 8'5. BTW I am 5'10" and weigh about 65Kg.
I know it would be best to demo the exact board - unfortunately not sure that I will get that opportunity.
Any help/advice would be very much appreciated.
thanks,

Again - I am requesting pictures of the Hokua 7'6 LE. I've only ever seen pic's of the deck nothing of the bottom or rails. Also, any feedback would be appreciated.
I did demo the 8'10" - seemed a bit to floaty for my size.
thanks,
