Ok thanks for that info ,so in your honest opinion which one would be better as far as flat water paddling and no more than shoulder Hight waves are concerned.
I am 76 kg and have been on a cheaply sup for about a year now and I would like to get a newbie and
The Naish seems to be catching my eye also what would be the best paddle for all round flat and small wave riding . Thanx heaps for your input

How heavy are you?.. The GT boards are a bit stronger and flex slightly less.. and might be a better choice if you're a bigger guy.
If you're a lighter guy.. ( under 80kg ) I'd be recommending the GS unless you really want the timber look deck and the slightly better short board like surfing performance..
I'm using a slightly bigger centre fin in mine.. and also using it as a single fin.. and it still surfs great and paddles flat water better.. The GS is a fair bit cheaper.

Ok thanks DJ I am just under80 kg so if u reckon that strength wise there is not much diff then I will go with the GS so what size fin r u using and type and can u recommend a all round paddle to go with this board , I guess il be doing 50/50 flat and surf and confident in both many thanx for your input
I've only been out on a SUP 3 times so I'm no expert. I just bought a 10'6" GT and the reason I bought it was the feel of the board in the water compared to the GS. I demoed both on flat water. I'm 100kg so this may be a factor. I found the GT to run better in the water - the little difference in weight was noticable since in my opinion the board is lighter because it uses stronger stuff so they can make it less dense so therefore it floats better. It also feels stiffer (I mean in terms of board flex not ability to turn). I don't like the feel of epoxy in a surfboard but this felt right as a SUP. My wife at 60kg also thought it felt better in the water.
That's my impression. There are other people here who I'm sure have more knowledge on what works best.
hey DJ I forgot to ask r u on the GT or GS
My 10'6" Nalu is the GT.. and my 9'5" Mana is the GS..
The GT has a high gloss (slippery) finish on the deck.. The GS has a mat (slightly grippy) nose that you can step on without slipping (if you're careful)
I'm using a 9 1/2" dolphin fin.
