Can anyone advise me whether a Nalu 10'65 is going to be suitable for me. I weigh 105kgs or 230 lbs at 186cm or 6'1". I have short board surfed for over forty years, done a little SUP'ing but continue to receive conflicting reports about the buoyancy of the Nalu 10'65. I intend to do a bit of wave work but would like a board that will also allow me some time on the flat. I like the look, the feedback and information available about the board but it seems everyone that writes a post on this board anywhere is under 90kg's/198lbs. Is there any larger riders out there with first hand views?

Hi I am 104kg with 35 years surfing on short boards - 10'6" is a perfect length - I have a couple of boards and found extra width good for choppy windy surf and able to drop back to 10' and narrower in good surf.

Extra stability in early days will see you out longer with a little compromise in waves.

Fantastic fun - I probably use the sups 90% of the time - only drawback is the bloody hurt when they hit you.

Good luck the Nalu should be perfect.

I'm 6'4" and 95 kg.. and have no problem at all on the 10' 6 1/2" Nalu.

You should be ok but try and demo one first if you can.

Hi,

I'm 6'5'' and 102 kg.
I initially bought a Nalu 10'10'' as i spend quite a lot of time on the flat. Started to surf more and more, so traded it in on a 10'6.5

I think it's a great board! It does sit a little low in the water at my weight when on the flat water, and it is a bit slower that the 10'10'', but nothing too bad, and I got used to it very quickly.

The 10'10'' was great, but compared to the 6.5, it felt like a barge once I switched.

I'd go for it... it's a perfect compromise between a flat water board and a great surfer.

Cheers
Chris
