Hi jerone im based on the south coast near brighton so we dont get to many waves but plenty of down winding. I try and go down to devon and cornwall when ever i can.

cheers colas its big but not quite as big as it looks maybe about 1" 1/4 tall i like having something fairly large at the back so you can really jam your foot at the back when you need to and to stop sliding of the back when going backwards.

Well i wasn't expecting to get it wet today but before race training tonight i couldn't help but throw it in the lagoon to see how it floated with me on it and well it was toatly fine! it was actually very stable not far off my 7'4 x 28" fish, it does have less directional control while paddling but its still not bad. After training there was half a foot of much braking on the sand at low tide, it was defiantly not any sort of proper wave but i did get on a few and it felt promising so cant wait for a proper swell to come now!The proof that it floats me and i actually managed to stay dry even in the mushy waves.

That photo points to just why the board is stable underneath your feet despite the muck. If you have a look at the rear of the board it is obviously submerged and the centre of the board is quite level with the water line, so theoretically you shouldnt experience that much in the way of water slapping against the board. Nice lift at the front. These boards just keep impressing. I am guessing Charlie that at 7'0 and and just of 25 inches this board has to be pushing the 80L volume and under.

Your building a CNC machine....... I have just looked at putting one at work for cutting aluminium sheets 80k Mate thats one hell of a build what is your background.

That is insane Charlie props to you mate , such a big effort . Look forward to seeing what comes off that machine. Now you just need to build a 3D modeller for your fins

Yea why not! We'll maybe a ultra light or a glider I think that way you can get away with less paper work. I used to fly gliders and plaines when I was 18 and it would be amazing toy to get down to the West Country in the uk for a surf. If I lived some were with warm consistent waves I would probably just be on the beach the hole time with a beer like you guys in auz

cheers it will be awesome but only when its working at the moment its still just a very expensive project but its getting there.

Im seriously starting to get impatient i have never wanted to surf a new board more and there is very little signs of any proper waves on the forecast for any were with in reach for as far as i can see. it would be a good time to go to the wave garden but the one planned for the ik is not yet built.

the reason for building one is not these small boards its mainly for race boards and large stuff like that. Trying to shape 14' by eye and get it perfect and make small changes each time (my eyes are not great in the first place) is almost imposable. let alone 18' which i have tried and got it pretty good but not to a point were i was happy, it really frustrates me when something is even a little bit out so maybe it will help me relax a little with that to.

I will all all so use it for a number of other little things to hopefully earn a little money back from so it will be more than just for boards. Im hoping i can all so re visit my hollow boards again and use it to create very accurate moulds to do them from. Because i like to build all sorts of things its really just going to be like having a big toy to play with that will allow me to experiment so much more with all my designs. There are a number of different programs the machine will run on mach3 and i will probably use shape3d for boards

That looks amazing! i have done a lot of traveling az, nz usa peru france ect ect but doing a trip just for testing a board is out of my budget. It is 8 hours round trip to devon or cornwall when its working for proper waves, france is some times doable but it looks flat there at the moment too. There is a slim chance we may get a slightly bigger load micro wave tomorrow with 20knots of wind but at the same time it could be non existent. You guys don't know how good you get it if im lucky i will get a surf every other week or maybe once a week if we have a good spell in the winter but it its maybe once a month if that in the summer with the rest of the time it being down winders or kite or windsurfing.
