Hi all, As a newbie to the sport I'm seeking advice on another board primarily for the surf. I am currently riding a nalu 11'4 but not entirely happy about the length. I think I would prefer a shorter board that I could throw around a bit easier. Am thinking about a mana 9'5 to add to the quiver. I am 179cm and 88kg. Lots of experience windsurfing and long boarding but very limited sup at this stage. Comments please
The 9'5" Mana is an excellent board and would be perect for you at your weight.. I have at least 5 friends with 9'5" Mana's and they all love them.. You won't believe the difference from your big old-school 11'4" Nalu.. another Naish board worth concidering is the new 10'6".5 Nalu.

I had a 9'5 mana and it was an awesome board to learn on, after about a year I was ready for something more challenging and that performed better in the surf.
Since then I have had a 9'1 SB pro and 9'0 hokua, but if you are a relative newbie my recommendation would be a Coreban Performer 9'6.
It's floaty enough for a newbie but also worked well in the surf.
As they say Demo demo demo. Where in NSW are you?
Thanks Guys, you all make some very good points and have certainly given me food for thought. Being on the mid north coast makes it difficult to demo many boards so I value the input from the forum members. I like the look of the hokua but the volume concerns me at my current stage of expertise. Certainly an option down the track. My wife and I both tried the mana 9'5 on flat water a few weeks ago and while not overly fast with my weight felt quite good. My wife loved it compared to her logger. Leaning now towards this board as we both can get value from it.
