Yep. Going to depend on you. our size and style. I've used Maliko, Wiki and Molokai blades in the surf. My favourite surf combo is the Molokai with an X-Tuff shaft.

If you're 5'8 and 68kg the little one might work best for you. Or not. If you're 6'4 and 125kg, you might be better served by the big one. Or not.

Demo them, work out what YOU prefer.

I am 5'10 and 90kg but I prefer the little wiki for surf these days, that is just me though and I am over 50.

I recently bought a 95sq" Konihi for racing thinking it was time to go back to a bigger blade but I have gone back to my 84 Ho'oloa again I am just so used to the small sizes now.
I will give the 95 a couple more goes on training runs and see if I can get used to it, my first try was in a race and I just seemed to burn out quickly, I guess I may have to change my technique or something.

For surf I will be sticking to the small Wiki for sure.

The Ho'oloa 84 blade (same blade area as the Wiki 84) is a great surf blade.
It's half an inch narrower than the Wiki......good option for crew on sub 8' boards.
The closer you can bring the centreline of effort to the board, the less yaw you'll get when paddling.....coupla extra strokes each side.
Yaw can be overcome with technique but the less of it you have to overcome the better.
Get hold of a demo if you can

I see a few use the 8 wiki 100 percent stiffness for racing

Ok now I have my head more round this paddle, my question is this

how many of you use this 8inch wiki with 100 percent stiffness shaft for surfing

or would the wiki 8 and the 100 percent shaft be more just for racing

?

Most crew are using the xTuf or xTuf(S) shafts in the surf.
Considering a surf paddle is cut shorter than a race paddle, you lose some flex, therefore the flexier shafts are tho go.
BUT a coupla the team guys prefer the 100 flex.
Personal preference!?
