After much debate and sleepless nights about what board to get after coming out of retirement I have decided on a Starboard Pocket Rocket in wood construction.
I took into account my age, size, experience and requirements for the board and the pocket rocket became the obvious choice for where I am right now. Yes, it's up on litreage for my weight (78kg) but my year and a bit out of the water and my need for a short and stable board for small and very choppy surf make this an ideal board to get back into the sport I love, and miss so much.

Great choice. I used to have one (it was my first dedicated wave board) and I just loved it. I recommend it a lot to intermediate riders. Heaps of fun!

Top board choice. These boards are rare because people tend to hang on to them.
I'm 66kg and have owned mine for a while now. A lot of people told me that it had too many litres but it is so stable in all types of conditions.
In fact it is coming to Fiji next week over my dedicated wave board as it will cope better with the trade cross wind chop. Oh and it will probably go alright in the smooth stuff as well
No doubt it won't be my last board however unless it is kidnapped then it will always be in my quiver.

I've started working with people who are afflicted with this debilitating condition, so it's very close to my heart. I personally hope to swim for about 4 hours in shifts during the night, every cent is much appreciated.
