am looking at getting one of these as a 1st board. Anyone have any comments from previous experience with Fanantic boards??? ie. toughness, construction quality, general coments? Stuff like that.
Would be greatly appreciated guys, cheers.
wiked boards. i would sell my 10;ft though. would choose whether i want flat water or surf. durability...excellent,and our boards go hard. i take it all back about selling it..great board![]()
Hi Shayne,
Our Fly HRS boards we use in the school have copped a pounding by noobie paddlers for the last 6 months. We rail taped them after about 2 months, but in hindsight, it probably wasn't necessary. They are as tough as all hell. Of the 7 HRS boards in our demo, we don't have a single crack, chip or ding in ANY board. Just amazing!
Great boards to paddle and surf.

Yeah I got one in December 2010. Love it.
Started off on flat water and it does that pretty well.
Ventured into the surf after a few months and fell off more than not. Now it's the opposite, stay on most of the time and can handle up to 3' waves. Don't expect it to do fast cut backs.
HRS construction is very durable and deck is soft and grippy. Mostly use it in the surf now. The wood version is not as durable and will mark easier.
Have also used it SUP wave-sailing many times and it again is great in up to 3'-4' waves.
A great 1st board IMO. Good value as well.
Yeah seems like a good buy. can get a brand new 2012 board, leash and carbon/bamboo paddle for $1600. Am demoing a 9'6" Naish Nalu first so ill see how the day goes ![]()
