Finally getting around to putting on the deckgrip on the minion, but cannot for the life of me find anything that will stay on the plastic/paper lining on the adhesive when I try and draw the outline for it. I'll call Simon tomorrow but thought I'd tap into your collective wisdom first just in case....

I have tried permanent marker (which sticks like the proverbial to a blanket on anything else), paint marker, crayon, pen, pencil.....nothing works! I need to draw on the back of it to cut it out.....any tips?

Mate I used thin hard lead pencil on my deck pad on front when I marked it out..drew lightly and did same to make positional marks on board. .kept it to a minimal tho..once pad was secured I then used window cleaner t take away all marks on pad and board. Worked for me

Does not need to be draw...Last time i stuck a grip on my red 6'5" 28". I've done this way : pull up a middle stripe of protective paper and stick the sheet of grip beginning by the center middle near stringer position. Then trim along the rail with a chisel both side of grip and its protective paper . Drawing a parallel line to the rail can be helpful too to follow the deck line while cutting if you d'ont have pine line to follow as i've done on my board.
When finish to cut out the grip/paper , peel off protective paper and press from center to rail to apply the grip pressing off avoid air bubbles .
The edge of the grip can be sanded in a bevel shape on its outline later on

Hi tang , sorry to be in late but happy to share this trick for others ; Use a grinder rotating from in to outside the grip to sand flush bevel around. Protect the glass with the tape to avoid scratches.
