Corebean 11ft mammoth

Hi all just seen the 11ft mammoth by corebean. Any one had a demo yet..big board how do you think it would handle surf, is it worth going from a whopper to this, I have stability issues. Imgunadoit...

I agree with surf4fun... I have not seen the mammoth, but the tail looks awfully blocky

I started on the Avanti... it will solve your stability issues, and it surfs incredibly well for a huge board.
It was equally good in 1 foot or overhead waves. Sometimes I wish I still had it for small days.
It was also really fun on flat-water

Just a word of caution... the Avanti is a BIG board... I didn't much like getting hit by it

Exactly how big and unstable are you, mind you I haven't seen the Mamoth, but have seen the seen it surfed the corban 12'6 explore and it surfed ok in small fat waves..........

I went from the Avanti to the JP 10'8 x 34 Fusion and love it it surfs so much better than the avanti.................almost did a cutty the other day..........almost

Just be aware that all of these guys are very good surfers that when riding those boards were 250 pounds plus. If you're a light weight there are plenty of very stable smaller boards. STC is now on an 8'11" Allwave.

Okay avanti looks good. Anyone like to comment on the laird 11ft it's bout 30 inch wide, balance mmmm. Whopper hard enough. I thought this may be worse... Good pic of the avanti, that one big ass board, maybe it's my only choice

Ive been surfing avalon and surf beach now for over 35 years. 2 very different breaks. Im not a huge fan of the whopper, but ive seen a couple of guys surfing avalon really well on the avanti. Avalon is a fuller peeling reefbreak. The bigger the board, the earlier you catch the wave. Long peeling rides, and a bit of paddling on smaller days to make the sections. One of those breaks that going smaller in board size is of no benefit, unless its really big. Too many guys on shorter boards scratching around on most days on what is generally a pretty full wave. Ive had great fun out there on really small days on my 10.8 cabrihna. Catches waves easily, is super stable and really nicely built. You really cant go too big at avalon, especially if you sit at the northern most take off zone and surf into the bay. I avoid the point itself and the breaks in between, because of the carnage betwen sups and longboards that occurs whenever its busy. For the record im 106 kg, and theres a few guys bigger than me out there most days on a couple of really big nsp,s. i havent surfed either the avanti or the mammoth, but they would all be fine at avalon on smaller days. Surf beach is a different proposition. When the banks are working it is a sucky powerful beach break with a habit of closing out. There are always softer banks though, and ive found that the banks starting around port kennedy are a little more forgiving as are the southernost banks around golden bay. Surfing a huge board in close out beachbreaks is always a problem, especially when the banks are generally knee deep. A board that surfs avalon, is not really a board for surfbeach. Here you want a shorter board, lots of nose rocker for steeper takeoffs and a solid construction for going nose first into the sand. Having said that if you avoid the banks thhe shortboarders are on, and go to the southern or northern extremities of the beach you will find some deeper more managable banks for a big sup. as a warning ive broken 2 naish manas at surf beach, so it can be an expensive proposition if youre not careful.
