Looking for some advice. Choice between a 10 foot Nash Mana and a 10 foot 2 NSP E2 Epoxy ? Nash is marginally more expensive and I am aware of that. Which is best board for a beginner ? Looking at paddling in bay (flat water)until able to develop some skills and then progressing to surfing in up to about one metre waves. Want to give stand up a go in hope of sorting out some back problems. Have been told is awesome for fixing up back. Some people have told me NSP is a barge terrible handling some say it is better in flat water than the Nash. Any thoughts appreciated ?

What do you weigh? This is extremely important when deciding your first board. Also IMHO I would be looking for a longer higher volume board. Yes there is a trend for shorter boards but for a flat water/small wave focus the 10ft will wonder and "yawn" easier than let's say a 10'8"-11'2" board. Bigger boards catch small waves easier too. As a novice SUP surfer you'll enjoy the smooth lines the longer board takes which allow for focus on technique and vision. Once you gain experience then you may find your sleve buying your second board dedicated to surf (under 10')

I went through the same thought process before I bought my first board. I was determined to get a short board because that's what all the surfers in the forums were talking about. After numerous demos I found that I really enjoyed a 10'8" board because it tracked better in the flats and caught small waves very easily. I also spend about 75% of my time on flat/open water.

Naish is a great choice for brand. Consistent quality but with that comes the highest price on the market. Before you buy demo some mid priced boards against the Naish. Not the cheep stuff but be open minder that there are some other brands that make good designs and quality that will save you money and provide just as much fun. Then you'll have the extra dollars to put into your next SUP. Best of luck with your SUP quest.

I'm thinking the Naish 10'10 Nalu would be a better choice for you.. Iv'e paddled both [actually all three] and i think if the main use was for surfing the Naish Mana and NSP Elements are both great boards.. I would choose the Naish over the NSP because of the Naish handle, the great Naish quallity and finish, the deck grip and also the slighty wider tail.. but the NSP is a fair bit cheaper and worth concidering.. Try and demo before you buy.
