Just repairing a snapped Starboard 10'5" X 30" NRG. I plan to use it as a back-up board for my (usually) easy sup surfing, and a loaner for friends and relatives. I have glued it back together but now I notice that I haven't got the bottom curve straight. There is a few degrees of reverse rocker at the join.
Should I keep going and give it a try, Or will it just paddle and surf like a board with flatter rocker than the original?
I can pull out the circular saw and start again, just wanting the easy way.
If the break is bad enough, use OKE in Braeside Melbourne.
If you have changed the shape of the rocker then it will have an effect on the performance
Check out this blog.... guy snapped his board in half 7 times.... that's 7... with a 7![]()
Repaired it each time.... still using it... it only gained 4 lbs with all the repairs
This should give you some great ideas

Thanks for that. I had a quick look and seems to be some really good ideas in there - the diamond shape patches and the simple clamping.
I fixed another board using this for a guide:

My real worry at the moment is that I have the board stuck back together, ready to glass, but to my eye it is a tiny bit misaligned. That is i have straigtened out the bottom curve just a little.
if you think it's wrong... then it is.![]()
and it won't be worth fixing.
the saw might be a bit drastic.... maybe a razor knife and some well intentioned cuts![]()
