Has anyone heard of Billy Budd SUP boards?
I saw these boards (epoxy) and they seem very well priced compared to many other brands.

I'm after a SUP. Don't want to pay through the roof, as it still won't take priority over windsurfing or surfing.
Just something decent that will allow me to paddle around for fitness and catch a few waves.
Doesn't have to be the ultimate wave machine. More for when the surf is small.

Can't seem to find a 2nd hand one that appeals to me or for the right price.

Also, 10ft be a reasonable all-round size?
I'm 75kgs.

Thanks

Hi filth
Have you ridden a sup in surf? I only ask this coz most people who have windsurfed, surfed (short board) get very hooked on sup surfing. And my own experience says go down to at least a 9'. look for something like the 9' naish or 9'2" psh wide ripper or similar.
good luck

Hi Mick,

No, I'm a newby at SUP.
I was leaning towards the 10ft (as opposed to smaller) to also make it useful for paddling distances. Not marathons or anything, but from one beach to the next.
Wasn't sure if anything smaller would be suitable, but correct me if I'm wrong.

I don't doubt that it's addictive though. Looks fun.

Thanks for the tip

Hey filf,
I'm around the 78kg 49yrs currently ride a psh 9'3" ripper, sometimes paddle approx 2k down the coast without a problem these boards have a displacement volume of around 125ltrs are a touch on the heavy side but a great first surf board. I'm looking at down sizing to the 8'9". If you can, borrow, demo, hire a few different sizes as forking out $$$ and then realising you made an error is costly.
