I think you'll see a lot more from Bic over the next year or two.

Up until now they seem to have focused on cheaper wave/all-round boards, yet they just signed Eric Terrien (Euro racing champ) so they might be getting serious about making racing/higher-end boards.

Hey DJ, nice find. Yeah BIC are having a good stab at it. The video is of the 2011 models (all yellow), you can now get the 2012 range in Oz. They are 10% lighter and pretty good value at $1299 with paddle and leash.

They remind me of the windsurfers (BIC) I had in the late 80's, they had a seam just as these boards do that seperated with heat. Pass on this type of manufacturing, to me they look too plastic

Yeah I remember those boards. There were a few issues back then with different Epoxy constructions. 30 years on a lot has changed. The ABS plastic skin is a protective skin over the Epoxy glass. Super durable. Suits families and those not wanting durability issues of exposed Epoxy glass. We use them in our school for this reason.
