Hi. I've just spent a month in Noosa and fell in love with SUP boarding. Now I'm home (Mornington) I'm looking at getting one for myself. Being where I am it'll be predominately used on flattish water in the bay, but maybe an odd trip out to Point Leo or the like. I was using a 2012 Fanatic 11' in Noosa, but was also recommended a 10' by the guy up there. I've had a look at a few down here, and have tried out a 10'4 Maunalua and a Naish, but I think I'm starting to get confused. What sort of board would you suggest for a newbie at 5'5ish, 65kg? Would love any and all feedback!
Talk to Warwick at RPS always honest. Paul at the Zu is good. Lars at SHQ is helpful. All of the places have demo's. At your size you could sup a Zippy board. Nick down at Core Boardsports and Rich at Strapper in Torquay have a large range as well as being nice guys and very helpful. They are all site sponsors and are reputable companies. A good way to start SUPPING !!![]()

If you want the board for mostly flat water use but still want good wave performance a board like the Naish 10'6" Nalu would be perfect..
The same as mine that I'm using in this vid.. (btw at a surf spot near Pt Leo).. ![]()

I agree with all those contacts, they are all very good.
My first preference would also be Warwick at RPS.
Here we go again. It's a no brainer.get the best and get a Fanatic Allwave and the size will depend on your weight and height and experience.Maybe an Allrounder if it's mainly flat water. Buy the right board first time and save yourself a lot of money.Stability is everything when you are starting out in the surf and you can't beat an Allwave.
