Hi Guys,
Has anyone got info on the new Bark Dominator 14'?
Anecdotal reports are that it is a great board but am seeking more detailed info.
Seems difficult to get any info on it.

I know it and have paddled it.. It's a very nice board.. Looks like the new one is the same shape with a new paint job.. Anyone know if it's changed? .. Construction is good but the shape is a few years old now.. and it's more of a flat water board than a board for choppy water and downwinding.. but it does work quite well on downwinders.. IMO

Haven't tried the 2015 version but I think it's not changed shape significantly since it originally came out. It hasn't been changed because it didn't need to be. Unlike some brands, who are constantly changing their models because, I suspect, they have rushed the original design, Joe Bark got this one right first time. The group I paddle with have one, and we often trial the Dom against the latest offerings from other brands and find they are no faster - or slower - and often less user-friendly. They are pretty good in the sea, especially upwind, but they aren't intended to be open ocean racers. They are light, and look good too. A classic board IMO.

I wonder if the OP actually meant to ask about the new "D2" Surftech Bark, not the Dominator....?

Looks like the changes to the Dom are just that it comes in AST for 2015 -?

And there's a new Surtech Bark downwind board for 2015! There's going to be a lot of interest in that.

Hopefully have a D2 before Xmas for demo here, main UK stock arriving in the New Year sometime. If it's anywhere near as good as the 12'6 Contender it will be a great alternative to the mainstream brands and at a realistic price

Thanks Area10. You are quite right.
Am seeking info on the brand new Bark.
I thought it was the new for late 2014 Dominator but it looks like the board I am searching for is the D2.
An acquaintance had a paddle at the Catalina race and said it was an awesome board and well worth waiting for.
But it is pretty hard to wait for something that you know nada about.
Have paddled the Fanatics, Naish's and NSP DC 14.
They all make great boards but the Surftech build quality/weight is difficult to pass by.
They make a light, strong board that will take the occasional knock.

Just found this link to the 2015 Surftech boards:

issuu.com/benmajor/docs/2015_surftech_paddle_catalog-final_/36

Turns out the D2 is way too small for my weight and the Dominator is just a refresh of the previous model.

Oh well, back to the drawing board.

At 14st I'm too heavy for the contender according to the write up but i ride one in all conditions and find it a fantastic board so i wouldn't take their weight limit as 100%. Wait till you can get a demo on a D2 and then decide
