The latest 12'6" race weapon from the Walk On Water (WOW) boys.
These are the guys that do Simon Anderson and Luke Short (LSD) boards.
There are a few of these around Sydney and now this one in Melbourne.
I've only recently got my hands on it but had a few paddles in the Bay and in Merimbula....flat water and small surf.
It does everything I hoped it would....goes very quick if you hook in, suprisingly stable for its width, picks up runners nicely down wind.
It even surfs well for its size.....nice hard rails in the back end help it hold an edge.
Cool spray job too.
Plenty of volume for big blokes.....255 litres.
Took a few shots this morning.

I'm not sure if any of the retailers in Vic. can get their hands on the WOW stuff??
If anyone in Melbourne is keen to check it out let me know.
We are either going to use this or WOW's 14' Open Ocean Downwinder in the Mad Mad Paddle next month....wait and see what the conditions are like on the day.
Enjoy.

Yeah.....the paint job looks pretty cool.
Deffinately different to anything else I've seen.

I posted a seperate topic on the 14' & 12'6" downwinders.

Damn wish I had some spare cash, what a sweet looking board! On the flipside I am sort of glad I dont have the moula as there are so many good boards out there right now I would be tearing my hair out to choose one!

yeah, i was just thinking there are so many good ones around.

the other thing is the 12'6 s are all starting to look very much the same these days.

if you look at my bridging the gap post my 12'6 is very much the same outline except its is 27" wide and weighs about 9 kgs

still i expect to see quite a few of these boards around the traps - very nice

There is also a 30" wide version called the 12'6" Tour.
Would be nice and stable for the heavyweights or someone looking for stability.

When are these guys gonna update their website!

Still showing 2010 gear and graphics, AND no sign of flat water/DW boards!

COME ON WOW!

In a industry this competitive they should be updating their site on a weekly basis!

Such good gear tho...... Must just be out testing 24/7 I guess!

They a disappearing off the shelves pretty quickly.
There is more than a few people looking forward to the website being updated.
Apparently it will all be renewed very soon.
Plenty of paddling and R&D going on.
