Finally got out this week with surf up to chest/head high for a first hit out quick play in some waves.
Previously had only plugged a sail on it for an "amateur" Windsurd surfing wave comp where we had very little wind (that was a laugh chatting to people whilst you were catching waves), and a paddle session with very little swell.
First of all, I am quite an "ordinary" surfer, all my mates were glad when I gave up the standup and went back to the "lid" as I'm fairly Unco on the water.
Have paddled a few different types and sized SUP's in the surf (including the JP Cruiser which was a scream) and have figured out that I like width, The 32" width felt nice and stable.
Once on the wave it had some nice turn to it, nice and easy which is the way i like it, never was into the thrash and slash (I never was anywhere near that good).
Thing which I like with the sup's is the ability to move around and board walk, nice and easy to get up the front of the board and explore the area in front of the deck grip.
Looking forward to more of a play now
