Howdy all. Long time lurker, first time poster.

Has anybody got any details on the new line of race boards NSP look to be releasing?

http://www.newsurfproject.com/stand-up-140.html

I'm personally interested in the 14ft model for flat water and downwind purposes, but have no idea about the outlines or whatever and am hoping someone can help me out.

Cheers

I'm also looking forward to checking these new boards out.. I hope they are well priced.

We need more flat water board options.

Flaker, how did it look in terms of all-round versatility? Could it be used as a competent downwinder?

I have also seen the 12 and 14fter in Greenline on the goldy and the boards look pretty good (if you like that kinda thing I suppose) AND they are very well priced. The 14 looks like it would be a reasonable down-whinger based on other similar boards that I have seen and they are all pretty much the same from what I can gather

Sorry to say that I didn't really take that much notice of it other than that it was there. Looks like Billboard may have more of an idea though.

It's pretty common knowledge that I know sh#t all about racing sups and have little or no interest in them, but I do know enough about the basic design of watercraft to know that the big production companies like naish, starboard and the like make exceptional performing boards and it really comes down to whos padding it as to how well it goes. Looking at the nsp boards I see very clean lines and efficient looking shapes that look like they have had a lot of thought go into them, the same way that a lot of research and development goes into the other reputable production boards that I have mentioned. The other thing that stands out to me as a rank amateur in the race board arena is that the boards feel like they are very well made - strength wise and finish and for their price I reckon they will be a pretty bomb-proof knockabout race/cruiser for the whole family. NSP sups and surfboards historically have always been a very strong and longlasting good allround, value for money board and I am sure the bigsups will be no different. I may stand corrected here but I think they are going to retail for around $1600 - $1700 but I am sure the sup retailers on the goldy will know for sure. I personally have always been a big fan of nsp sups/surfboards and if I was interested in the race/cruiser sups I would be at least trying out these boards when shopping around for my next board.

If they're not too heavy I reckon they'd be very good

Lobes I agree. They do indeed look the goods but I am not sure how their weight compares to other race/cruisers. So long as they weren't excessively heavy wouldn't a bit of weight be an advantage in offshore choppy conditions ? I guess in flatwater lighter is better - don't really know too much about it. I did have a 12ft holoholo for a short time and that was heavy compared to some other similar boards but by crikey it paddled well through slop and flew upwind.
