Hg02 you could put a small fire in the bucket that might keep you warm on those cold nights. Haha

Is the cooler from a bucket a joke, or what.....

He has filled the bucket with ice and is blowing air over the ice to cool something. Save the building effort, buy a bag of ice and sit on it!

Also, have a look at the knife handling technique while cutting the hole in the lid, I was expecting lots of blood from the knife aimed at the knee.

The ice bucket idea will fill your boat with water vapour ...... and all the attendant problems

As for the kettle still .... cheaper to buy a sealed battery and then there is no need for distilled water ..... or buy a couple of bottles as spares.

and if your out at sea and your mast falls over board and you run out of water I guess you just row your dingy to the nearest super market

No. You row to the nearest servo and get half a dozen bottles of gas or in your case two 20 litre drums of kero and ten litres of metho.

The navy used to pack these real neat inflatable solar stills in their life rafts. Just blow them up and float them out on lines from the raft. I am pretty sure you had to put seawater into them somewhere.
