hi ,my navman 3100 depth display has lost its digits and navman/northstar do not repair these units anymore. anyone have a working unit for sale or know where i can get this repaired

I saw that on you tube. Just trying to source the zebra connectors in Australia. The connectors are cheap enough but the postage is ridiculous from USA. Looks too easy but we all know how that works
I have a repair kit sitting here from Indigo electronics USA.
The biggest problems that I can see are:
1. I failed micro-surgery 101 when studying to be a farmer.
2. I would have to cut at least seven wires to remove the unit to the workshop where there is a vanishingly slim chance of fixing the sucker and re-connecting it.
So I am still tossing up whether it is all worth it. A new system could be easier.
If I was starting from scratch with electronics, my priorites would be:
1. Depth
2. GPS/Plotter
3. VHF
4. AIS
5. Internet/Modem/Weather
I would not even bother with wind instruments and probably no log.
They used to come up fairly often on gum tree, for my old boat I bought two for $50 - worked fine.

Same problem here and I I'm looking for a zebra connector. There is a guy with some on eBay but they are too short. I even bought a cheap digital screen from Jaycar that looked just like one that some Canadian on YouTube used to cannibalize a zebra connector but the Jaycar unit didn't contain one. Please p.m. me if you find a source. Given up for the time being as I am too busy trying to get my dud new sails remade.
