Colin and the whole team, you did an incredible job capturing the essence of this story. As a father of two children, I can deeply empathize with the overpowering emotions that must have gripped this family. The courage they showed is beyond words!

Got no problem asking people to for pay content so that others can be entertained, learn or live vicariously. It's great that people can produce content themselves so we don't have to watch the Woke rubbish and thinly disguised propaganda being churned out by the major TV networks, Hollywood, Netflix and the like who are never going to cater to yachties anyway.
However doesn't suit quite right expecting others to bail you out when you sail around without insurance ...
Anyway people are free to donate to whoever they like so all good.

I agree fully. This, however, is a trend throughout society that seems to have grown with the prevalence of social media. The constant pork barelling and handouts by governments also encourage the trend. It appears to be normal these days to expect everyone else to be responsible for one's own poor choices, ignorance or laziness. The legal system is also to blame since the system actively looks for excuses for criminals instead of just holding the crim accountable.
As you say, people can donate to whatever they like but I see these donations only supporting the behaviour of "I don't care 'cos someone else will bail me out if it goes wrong and I won't have to sacrifice anything".
