hi people. not sure if im posting in the right place but i need help to identify and rigg an unkown catamaran. all i know is that it is 16 foot long and the hulls are made of aluminium. i have never sailed and thought i would give it a go . i paid $800 australian with sails and rigging and it all appears in good order. unfortunately all i can do is look at it and thats no fun at all. any help would be fantastic.

You say you paid $800 Aus for it, does this infer that you are not in Aus?
I am not aware of any commercial builder in Aus that made aluminium off the beach cats so it is quite likely that this is a one of build done by someone talented, maybe in their backyard.
Having said that do not be put off as it will still very likely bring big smiles once you get it sorted, you need to find another cat sailor to help with the sorting out of what goes where and give you a few pointers and help tune it.

Mate, most of us here are in Aus and it's usually a pretty good brains trust, not much stumps these guys.

It almost sort of looks like a Paper Tiger, though those are 14' not 16'.

Does it have two centreboards (one in each hull) or does it have one in the middle between the two hulls or no centreboards at all (like a Hobie)?
