Windrush have just deigned and built their own F18.
It is called the EDGE and looks awesome.
They will have two of them on the water on Sunday at Nedlands YC if anybody is interested.
Not hard to spot. One of them is orange :-)

Best yacht Windrush ever produced was the "Wildfire".

Two of the Windrush F18 Edge's raced in Nedlands YC race today. The breeze, or lack of, certainly made it hard going.
Both Edge's were slightly late to the start, but rounded the top mark in 1st and 3rd.
Their boatspeed upwind in 2-3 knots was comparable to the Tornado's that they were racing. Downwind they did not seem to lose out either. This is where the Tornado's would normally leave the f18's behind in light winds. The front Edge was only passed by one Tornado on the next leg, but reclaimed first by the end of the 2nd lap.
The shape of the "Edge" makes an interesting waterline, and was perfect for the light breeze and semi flat water.
With both boats being packed up and driven to Geelong next week, it does not give the two teams much time on the water to practice before the Nationals.
Pictures of the "Edge" can be found on Windrush's website.
Can't wait to have a go myself when they get back from the Nationals.
Cheers

The first day of the Nationals is now complete.
Brett and Ryan are currently in 4th, but are showing that the boat has the speed to be at the front.
They missed the start of the first race by 3-4 minutes, but still managed to get a 7th.
Josh and Cara have had a capsize, but are still performing well in 8th place.
It has been blowing 20-25 knots, and Brett thinks the Edge is quicker downwind than the fleet.
Upwind speed will come once the boys work the boat out.
Sounds like Windrush have got the design pretty right for strong winds. Lets hope tomorrow is lighter so they can test it in all conditions.
