Can anyone recommend a travel insurance company that covers for sailing on a charter boat in the Mediterranean?

Excellent question obviously - never needed that but there are numerous companies who appear to be offering such insurance - but you need to call them..........on some websites it is not immediately clear if they are offering an extension on your existing policy or for a one off charter arrangement, or personal injury insurance etc or the complete yacht and personal injury insurance. The first question would be to the charter company I assume, to get their PDS.

Hi Brisa,
As R13 mentioned, read the PDS and t&c's very carefully.
SWMBO worked for a travel insurance call centre on the medical desk for a few years and there is a huge difference between providers when it comes to medical.
The cheap travel insurance deals aren't worth the paper they're written on, this is one area where you get what you pay for.
I worked in an industry where you could be in a dozen different countries in a year that could have minimal med services, so as a rough guide for the high end my plan was $1000 per month. We kinda had to and I must admit it was first class service, they would pull seats out of jumbos to medevac you and a whole medical team if that's what was needed.
If I could summarise it, there are lots of good providers , there are no good cheap providers.
Cheers!
SB
