Hi
I sprayed Northane Gloss yesterday and when wet was smooth but when checking today has lots of small bumps in the surface. More in some places than others.
Any idea what's gone on here?
Cheers

It may be a solvent reaction
Did you use a single pack primer?
if so how long did you leave it before top coating and was the ambient temperature below 20 deg c
Did you strain the paint with a strainer
Was there any wind? looks like some dust and stuff as well as overspray?
Bit irritating to think you are done and come back and find that.
the first pic almost looks like what you get with oil/silicon contamination type fisheyes.
The others definately maybe some soft of dust or sand contamination as above
What sort of nice is your compressor and hoses in?
I hope you find out so we all know
I can see Norglass saying that on the parts with non slip. looks like a hi fill there. But the other items look like contamination. How's the compressor, is tank bone dry and or is the compressor rings good?
richard
Some of it looks like outgassing, some of it looks like contamination, hard to say from the photos as good as they are.
they may be correct in saying its gone on too thick, but its a bit rich, given that the only give a coverage rate per litre. Most data sheets would provide a coating thickness to stick to for optimum results, not leave it up to the customer to do the math for themselves. I'd be asking them for the ideal Wet coating thickness.
Where'd you coat them? Were they in the sun? If you recoat, try to do it in a cooling environment (where the temp is going from warmer to cooler) or when the temp is stagnant. Avoid the situation where its going the other way.
Went on well with 2 light coats with 45 minutes in between.
That may have been the reason for your bubbles, its either wet on wet or wait 16hr at 20C between coats.
Also did you prime with Shipshape and sealed all the pinholes before spraying the topcoat ?
Hi mate, i've just had the same reaction in my spray repair and everything was done by the book so to speak, have sprayed many a time using different coatings, first experience with this product, rubbed back and sprayed again and had the same issue, did you end up coming to a conclusion on the cause ? Ta.
