When I bought my Swanson 28 I read in the description that there was 'a 20 litre temperature controlled from engine heat exchanger pressurised cockpit shower".
I understand this to mean that I should find a tap that controls the hot water near the engine.
Any ideas?

I'd understand that to mean your heat exchanger holds 20l total, and if you are stuffing around with the hose clamps while in the cockpit, you will be hit with a blast of streaming hot water.
Other than that no idea :-)
Thanks for your reply.
No stuffing around but off the boat at the moment and wanting the answer. I have a buyer who's wife wants a hot shower.

Hi mate. There's no set standard for boat plumbing so there may or may not be a tap on the heater. Ideally just on the inlet to the tank. Mine was just plumbed direct from tank to deck with branches off to galley and head. No temperature control but rather run engine for a while or hook up to 240v and it's be about 60 deg c.
Assume Nanni Aust would be able to assist?

My hot water tank has a tempering valve on it (doesn't seem to work though), could it be something like that?
I have a 20ltr hot water tank which is heated from the engine - coolant from the heater exchanger system heats the tank which is pressurised via the boat cold water system. There'll be extra pipes coming off the motor going to the tank which will look like a small house hws.
On my yacht this was an optional extra, which can be fitted later, see link below. When installed there is a hot / cold tap, similar to your bathroom taps.

My transom shower has a on/off mixer tap valve, so if the engine or shore power has made hot water in the water heater tank, I can vary the shower temp.
the hot water tank is more or less a insulated tank with an electric element Via the shore power and simply engine heated water storage if no shore power. Mine will stay hot enough for a shower over night.cheers Richard

Hi all,
I found the pump.
Just had a good look around the engine and worked it out.
Cheers,
