Might be a good idea to check with your planned insurer to see if they have a list of surveyors they will accept. Club Marine has such a list (or used to) but others just accept a relevantly qualified and experienced surveyor.
Good 2019 post here;

Ross Naylor covers the area - looks like he covers most of the NSW and Vic coast. He was going to do a pre-purchase inspection on a 22ft yacht I was selling and seemed good - but the inspection didn't proceed the buyer bought without it.

Can anyone recommend a surveyor and a rigger round Westernport Bay/Hastings, Vic?
On the Club Marine website under Member Benefits there's a section "Service Provider Locator" which lets you put in your location, type of vessel and desired service (rigger, surveyor etc) and search. Might be a good place to start.
just been through the whole insurance thing...tudor insurance were /are great. The boat yard at newhaven can do a survey for a fraction of the marine survey cost elsewhere. This I suppose because they know their boats having pulled them out of the water etc etc...call glen botterill at newhaven yacht squadron for info...regards
forgot to mention...rigging replaced by superior masts at yaringa hastings for a good price. I have a crane coming to lift mast back in place for $400...managed to avoid the Scalpers...johnb portland
