Very popular here in WA a few sailing..... 2 models that I know one is a fix keel and the other is a retractable keel. Very easy to sail and safe as well. Swarbrick have nice yachts and they are well designed, the yacht I had and miss the most was a Swarbrick Pinacle................. had to let her go mooring (lack of) problem!

Great little boats space sailor 20s!
My parents had one and I pretty much learnt to sail on it before sailing dinghys. We raced it and won a couple of State Championships when there was associations of trailer sailors in big numbers such as Red Witches, Sorcerers, MB21s, MB 24s, spacesailor 22s, 24s, 27s, S80s, M27s.....The lates 70s and 80s really were the heyday.
The boat originally came with a swing keel version with a short or full rig, or a fixed keel version. The drop keel mk2 came later on.
Although the Spacesailor 22 got an Australian design award and the 24 + 27 got much accolade the spacey 20 and the 18 were great boats, very suited to WA conditions and very safe.
It's amazing how many are still sailing and sitting on moorings more than 30 years after being built and such a shame they are not sailed in the numbers they were.

From the photo at the John Crawford Marine website would indicate that there were differences among the Missoula, MT, USA version and the Australian version, although what I am seeing could be due to differences in options in my boat vs. the Australian photo.

I have a spacesailer 20 mini lead keel with a drop board through the centre, it has cruise the east coast from Harvey bay to Lizard Island it is a very sound boat and sails well. When reef down can sail well to windward in high winds. I am so impressed with the boat I take it to my grave! Wieght 1400kg on the trailer when stripped for racing.

I was wondering if anyone out there could help me with the handicap I know the handicap for a standard space sailer but is the handicap for a mark 2 drop keel It was build for racing In WA. The boats name was Stratos.
