I guess it's illumination of the obvious to some and even to me before I did it. With two boats there is a lot of work and not much sailing.
The North Shore is getting neglected in favor of the ease of going out to the front yard to work on the trailer sailer.
If I owned a trailer sailer and someone gave me a North shore 38 I would probably never look at the trailer sailer again but the newest toy always seems to take precedence. In it's defense it is a premium finished immaculately maintained boat.
Doesn't help that the North Shore has been on the waiting list for a slip for ages and psychologically I just don't like sailing a boat that I know hasn't got a clean bottom (it has been cleaned by a diver multiple times however) . At least that will be rectified next week.
Meanwhile the trailer sailer is getting to my cruising spec slowly. It has a new internal table as the std one was too big (although a work of art), a new electric toilet, a new bigger sink and tap, water tank relocated from under the V berth to main cabin and a soon to be installed electric water pump.
Quite conscious of adding weight although I'm telling myself that the weight of an electric toilet is offset by the weight of water/liquid in the porta-potty. The new table is way lighter although not as pretty. The swap to lithium batteries largely offset the weight of the solar panels. I'm not going to use the eBay water pump I received which turns out to weigh nearly 3 kilos and I'm going to go with a lesser capacity one that weighs about one kilo. Diced the uselessly located too small toilet compartment sink and above water thru hull and cock too) Decided the electric outboard isn't really the go and bought a second hand two horsepower outboard for the dingy which is considerably lighter than the 3.3 I was originally using.
By the end of next week theoretically I should have two boats which are ready to go with no more work but we all know that's a dream.
What is the trailer sailer you have?

Just need to look at it the right way, our family has 4 boats but each is for a very different purpose which each does brilliantly.
Coastal cruiser
Bay/river cruiser
Shallow water cruiser
Sail all rounder.

Don't know how you do it. Yes I've also got a decrepid Hydra and a Laser and a near new RS Quest that I should sell but I don't count those as yachts of course.
The two boats that own me .. 100years and a bit over 70' added together, so so much fun
Yes I think that's the better way to look at it. I'm just the slave at this stage of their lives.
