I like this boat 'Oddity' by Peter Goss a lot. The first boat for a while that I think is an improvement on my current boat. Interestingly he sold his Garcia Exploration 45 to build this.

Its called "Oddity" for a reason, it's got the same sort of beauty as a french bulldog, that is, it's so ugly it's cute. Beautiful is not a word I would use to describe it but I do agree its very well though out and I wouldn't mind owning it, I think I would have kept the Garcia 45 though.

I'm impressed, it's got the Phil Bolger out side the box thinking and it works, plastic crate draws that can be taken to the shop and filled ! And a pulpit that doubles as an A frame to assist lowering the mast ! And leeboards, I was surprised with the the drop leaf table that had the centreboard case appearance but gee it was good for 24 bottles of plonk

Practical and interesting yes, but beautiful??????????????????

If it's beautiful because it's functional, then one could say that the inside of an efficient septic tank or a healthy warthog bum is as beautiful as a 30 Square Metre or the Sistine Chapel. :-). We all have lots of boats that are great, but surely some are great and beautiful and some are great and.......ummmm, have character.

I really like it. Pete sells it to you in such an unassuming way, no wonder he was able to raise the big bucks for his previous endeavours. To me it shows his well thought out process and reflects his vast experience being distilled into what he wants in a boat.
