Hello
My boat came with a obsolete Northstar Explorer 657 chartplotter. It works well although, as I understand it, the charts can no longer be upgraded, so I will replace it which will have to wait until the boat is next slipped.
My problem is that I cannot view the water temperature. I have a manual but it does not help. Is there anybody who can tell me what steps I have to take to view the temperature page or find the temperature symbol? I am planning to sail up the NSW coast in the next few weeks and want to track and avoid the EAC.
I would be very grateful for any advice, thank you.
Hi Offshore,
This is from an old manual, but it should be right?
Display/More/Gauges
Takes you to the gauges window
Menu/Select (Choose layout)
Takes you to the layout window
Menu/Gauge Setup
The selected gauge can now be modified.
Enter/Select a dataset.
You should see water temp as one of the datasets.
Cheers!
SB

Buy a couple of these. Attach the probe of one to the metal section of the engine water intake with blu tack. The other dangle the probe down the cockpit drain. Change the batteries every couple of years.

Gotta hand it to you you pretty much have the best answer to every post on here :-).
Really ,,,??? Offshore41 wants to know how to get the temperature information from his chart plotter,
So shaggys reply to answer Offshore41 post wasn't the best reply to the Question. ?
Let's call it interesting alternative or lateral thinking then. Sorry poor choice of words. I didn't mean to detract from Shaggy's directly on point comprehensive answer. I guess I'm a bit biased as I have a different brand of chartplotter so could still possibly use Ramona's idea.
